Australia Space Launch - Launch party, interview and a MOBILE launch facility

In November 2020, SpaceX launched its first ever commercial crew to the International Space delivering four astronauts in a world-first:

  • Mission specialist Shannon Walker:

  • Pilot Victor Glover; Crew Dragon commander Michael Hopkins and;

  • Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut and mission specialist Soichi Noguchi

The sheer EPIC footage of this launch reminded me of joining a launch party with an Australian Space Family to watch the historic launch of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Demo 2 mission.

In May 2020, I was invited to a launch party during COVID-19 lockdown with Australia’s very own Space Family. Together we watched the Demo 2 Mission carry NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken to the International Space Station in the first crewed orbital spaceflight launched from the United States since the final Space Shuttle mission, STS-135, in 2011.

After sharing this “history in the making” I was able to chat with Richard Allen, the father of this wonderful Space Family.
